The climate of Zlatibor is continental-mediterranian. The differences in temperatures are minimal, and there are over 2000 hours of sunny weather a year. The average temperature is 7.5 degrees celsius for the whole year, and the average daily temperature is 18 degrees. With over 100 snowy days a year, Zlatibor is just perfect for winter sports. The summers are warm with cool nights and last from june to september; the hottest days are in july and august. From the medical aspect the climate is suitable for curing heart diseases, tyroid gland problems, asthma, allergies as well as for general health improvement. The north-eastern winds are the most frequent and strongest and they blow throughout the year, but they are the strongest from october to may cooling the air. The south-western and southern winds blow from autumn to spring bringing the warm air.

The average height of Zlatibor is 1000 metres above the sea- level. It is interspersed with numerous rivers, brooks and dales. Nature has been bountiful towards Zlatibor, giving it a beautiful landscape, the wavy landscape sprinkled with pine and fir forests, broad meadows embellished with wild daffodils and all sorts of other colourful mountain flowers, a very pleasant and mild climate, a large number of sunny days, clean air and much more... Several indigenous species of plants grow here as well as a great number of herbs which give a specific and pleasant scent to the air.


Zlatibor has the touristic tradition that is over 200 years old. It is recorded that the first tourists came here in 1750, and today Zlatibor i s a touristic centre with over 1.000.000 visits a year. Zlatibor is rich in cultural and sports contents. Regarding the sports contents of Zlatibor there are: tennis courts, football and basketball fields (both outdoor and indoor), swimming pools (both outdoor and indoor), horse-riding and paragliding schools, ski-paths and much more. A large number of sports clubs choose Zlatibor for training, including the world basketball champion-the Serbia and Montenegro basketball team. The cultural offer is very rich due to both the exceedingly rich historical heritage and the modern cultural manifestations. You can visit the cultural-historical locations such as the Uvac monastery, the ethno village of Sirogojno, the Mokra Gora railway station from the turn of the twentieth century, the art colony of Zlakusa village, the cottage churches in the villages of Jablanica, Dobroselica, Kucani. There is also a great number of cafes, restaurants, discoteques and cultural manifestations. To put it simply you will never get bored on Zlatibor, it is only up to you to choose what is fulfilling for you.
